Bottles & Digging
Bottles can be found all around the countryside, some of the best places to
start looking are canal towpaths and disused railway lines. You need to look
out for the signs of an old dumping ground; tall nettles, elderberry bushes
which thrive on well drained land (ash). Research your area at the local
library, look out for old ponds and gravel pits that may have been filled in
with local Victorian rubbish.
Talking to the older folk in your area is always a good start as they can
usually remember where old buildings once stood and sometimes even where the
rubbish was tipped!
When traveling always check for the glint of broken glass in the sunshine on
farmers' fields, this is a really good sign that you are on the right track.
